Welcome to the 2006 HIC Evaluation!
Member login

After 30 years’ of campaigning and advocacy on behalf of sustainable policies to resolve housing and other urban rights issues, HIC is conducting a participatory evaluation process. The purpose is to review its mission, goals, strategy and impact, as a global coalition of civil society organizations. The evaluation will examine the coalition as a whole, and focus particularly on three structures: the General Secretariat, Francophone Africa and the HLRN network.

The evaluation will help to identify the Coalition’s strengths and weaknesses, enhance members’ awareness of the challenges it faces and how best to meet them in strategic, organizational and operational terms. This will enable members to maximize awareness and mutual confidence, to get the most out of their HIC members and contribute further to building it.

This evaluation is for you, as a HIC member, to communicate your aspirations and concerns in relation to the organizational future of HIC and suggest ways of strengthening and improving it.

The evaluation consists of the following activities/components:

ACTIVITY

  • Internal questionnaire for HIC members
  • External questionnaire for organizations dealing with HIC and interviews with organizations that could be relevant to HIC (or vice versa) but do not currently have relations with HIC.
  • Workshop in Latin America, Francophone Africa, HLRN, involving member groups, according to available funds and opportunities.
  • Detailed interviews with some of the Coalition’s key partners or contacts.
  • Initial report with preliminary suggestions, to be discussed at the HIC Assembly and Board Meeting, during the World Social Forum in Nairobi.
  • Final Report
