HIC Members elect Africa Representative at the HIC Board

Dear HIC Members, Friends and Contacts,

Please find hereunder the Report of the Election of the Africa Representative at the HIC Board. The Report has been drafted by the Electoral Committee in charge of this process.

Report of Election:

The Electoral Committee has the pleasure to announce the results of the elections of Africa Representative at the HIC Board for the period 2018-2022.

According to the information provided by the General Secretariat, 22 organizations had the right to vote in this election.
We received a total of 17 votes, from which 16 are valid.

The final results are:

– 11 votes for Mrs. Ifeyinwa Ofong, Women in Development & Environment, Nigeria
– 3 votes for Mr. Moussa Ka, Habitants et Travailleurs Baraka, Senegal
– 2 votes for Mrs. Fatimata Soré/Zongo, Coalition Nationale de l’Habitat, Burkina Faso

These 16 valid votes represent the participation of 72,7% of the voting members and meet the required quorum of 10% of the roster of voters.

The Electoral Committee certifies the validity of this electoral process, as described in the HIC By Law.

According to the HIC By Law article 46 “The new Member of the Board is the candidate who has received the most votes. The alternate is the candidate of opposite sex who has received the next highest number of votes.”

According to these results and the requirements of the HIC By Law, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Ofong is elected as Representative and Mr. Moussa Ka as Alternate for Africa at the HIC Board for the period 2018-2022.
