During its last meeting in Nigeria, the International Council confirmed the dates of the World Social Forum 2009.
It will happen from January the 27th to the 1st of February 2009 in Belem, State of Para, in the North of Brazil, the Amazon region.
In HIC-News, step by step, we will inform you about the preparation of this worldwide event, which will combine activities in Belem with other initiatives anywhere in the world and communicational support to bridge the concentration in Brazil with other the other initiatives anywhere in the world.
HIC at the WSF 2009:
o The definition of the activities that HIC will implement, articulate and support at WSF 2009 –in Belem and/or anywhere in the world– will be coordinated during September and October 2008, as part of the preparation and development of the campaign “Housing and Land Rights Day 2008”. This coordination process will be shared with other networks and organizations in the spirit of the campaign “Act Together – Housing for All”.
o Next HIC annual meetings –Board meeting and General Assembly– will be held in Belem just before and at the beginning of the WSF 2009.
o With HIC members in Brazil, we are already planning aspects of the infrastructure for the next annual appointment. If you are planning to come, please let us know in order to foresee accommodations.
