Campaign for a Blueprint to End Homeless in Toronto

The idea is to reverse the funding cuts and downloading in the 1990s (federal housing cuts in 1993 and downloading starting in 1996; Ontario housing cuts in 1995 and downloading starting in 1998).

Local communities are in the best position to assess local needs and implement solutions, but they need the funding and program tools from senior levels of government.

In addition to supporting the Toronto Blueprint, the Wellesley Institute is also committed to working with local housing and homelessness advocates in other communities to assist them in developing local plans. For example, last week they did a a workshop in Halifax, future sessions are planned in Edmonton, Vancouver and Montreal.
