Delegation of Dalit Rights Protection Forum, Punjab, attended the four-day campaign for Housing Rights, organised by the National Forum for Housing Rights, held in Delhi from October 1 to 4.
Arunjeev Singh Walia, Senior Legal Advisor, said the delegation participated in a peace march organised on the occasion of World Habitat Day on October 4.
The delegation included Bhalla Singh and Pusha Salaria, Vice-Presidents, Karnail Singh, Devinder Kaur, Balwinder Kaur, Shobh Ram, Ram Lal and Isse Ram, members.
A memorandum containing various demands for providing housing facilities to the displaced people from the slums and for reviewing the demolition policy on the outskirts of the urban areas, was also presented to the President of India by the representatives of various human rights organisations.
