“The
Arab Spring presented a new chance for change for millions in the Arab World
who lost hope under suppressive regimes. Although the Arab Spring as a process
has created new positive atmosphere; yet, it has also created a mass influx of
displaced persons. The pattern that the Arab spring followed and still
following in some countries like Libya and Syria respectively has created
internal as well as external influx of displaced persons. For many the forced
displacement associated with the Arab Spring has become a long winter that
waits for an end. This seminar will tackle Protection concerns and Human Rights
issues related to the displacement created as a result of the Arab revolt since
2011.”
