Capacity Building of civil society

Jerusalem – within the program of building the capacities of CSOs towards blood borne and sex borne diseases; especially HIV/AIDs, and related dangerous behaviors; funded by UNDP and the Global Fund to fight HIV and AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM), Al-Maqdese signed 10 sub-contracts with CSOs from Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip with a total of 120,000$. Mr. MoazZa’tari, MSD General Manager, assured that the organizations will work on implementing awareness raising projects related to blood borne and sex borne diseases; especially amongst youth and university and school students, as these projects will cover most of the country’s governorates. The funding process comes as a result of conducting a training workshop for more than 30 organizations working in this field; as a call for proposals was published and MSD received more than 23 submitted proposals; following an evaluation process, the best proposed projects were chosen to be funded based on the nature of the project itself and the activities to be implemented, Mr. Moaz also pointed out that MSD is always keen to support these organizations within the framework of supporting CSOs work and empowering them to achieve their objectives and deliver the best services to the target groups.
