Dear Housing and Land rights defenders,
This year, World Habitat Day will be held throughout the world on October 6, 2008. We would now like to redouble our efforts to ensure the success of the Habitat International Coalition’s 2008 Campaign “Act Together: Housing for All”.
As such, you may have read in previous releases that we have created a web page to coordinate events, activities, and documents that each organization conducts around the theme of the right to housing, and particularly in the context of World Habitat Day on October 6, 2008 and the World Social Forum in January 2009.
To advertise this campaign and reinforce HIC’s commitment to the effective implementation of the right to housing and land, we have written a statement.
On the Campaign page you can view an updated map of the violations of housing rights which may be used as a tool for reflection and promotion of your activities.
There is also a space to promote your events and activities in conjunction with World Habitat Day.
To disseminate your events, please send an email with a detailed description of the activities (title of the activity, country, city, location, date, time, summary of the activity, and a paragraph introducing your organization) to campaign@hic-net.org.
