Launching of the HIC@Rio+20 blog

In June 2012, HIC will be present at two important events in Rio de Janeiro: the Peoples’ Summit for Social and Environmental Justice and the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD), also referred to as Rio+20.
The People’s Summit for Social and Environmental Justice during Rio+20 is an event organized by global civil society that will take place between the 15th and the 23rd of June at Flamengo, in Rio de Janeiro – alongside the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio+20.
The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development will take place from June 20 to 22 to mark the 20th anniversary of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, in Rio de Janeiro, and the 10th anniversary of the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg.
In addition, HIC will hold its annual General Assembly and Board meetings in the afternoons of June 17 and 19, and all day on June 18, during which the global HIC evaluation will be launched.
The HIC@Rio+20 blog (www.hic-rioplus20.hic-net.org) contains relevant information on these events in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese. It also contains information on the various programs, logistics and links to documents.
