Advocating the HRAH: Techniques, Experiences and Opportunities

Aim of Activity: To offer training on advocacy techniques and tools, by building on the previous workshop on monitoring methodologies. Expanding the information offered with a disucssion on the opportunities available for advocacy and the illustrative experiences of both successful and failed advocacy. The workshop intends to illustrate to participants how to take the monitoring phase further towards advocacy at both the regional and international levels. Key to this part of the workshop will be strategic discussions on how to prepare the tools of advocacy, such as parallel reports and urgent actions.

Expected Outcomes: We aim to have participants leave the session with a solid understanding of how to utilize the tools of their trade at the highest levels of advocacy forums. We also expect that participants will gain perspective on how to both create advocacy opportunities and how to use the existing events in their regions for advocacy platforms.
