Workshop: Financing Human Settlements

The Dutch Habitat Platform will celebrate World Habitat Day 2006 by holding a series of workshops in the Concordia theatre and conference centre in The Hague that will deal this year with every aspect of financing human settlements. The organisers said they will seek to address and explain and exhange with experts and all-comers alike, the finer points of participatory budgeting, micro-finance, and partnerships to help uplift the urban poor at home and abroad. The meetings, open to the public, are expected to draw experts from local administrations, housing corporations, advice bureaus and various non-governmental organizations.
