The rise of temporary rentals (tourist rentals, platform rentals, etc.) is exacerbating the housing crisis around the world.
At the Global Observatory on Temporary Rentals (OGAT), we are building a network for research, action and resistance against this problem that affects thousands of urban communities. We know we are not alone: movements, collectives, organisations and research centres are already fighting for fairer and more liveable cities.
Join us in building the Global Map of Struggles and Alternatives
Do you work or campaign on this issue? Does your organisation face conflicts generated by the expansion of temporary rentals? Do you know of local initiatives to regulate it or generate alternatives?
We invite you to add your experience to our collaborative map, a living tool that connects:
- Ongoing struggles and conflicts
- Popular proposals and transformative public policies
- Organisations and networks defending the right to housing and the city

What are we looking for?
- To highlight the impact of temporary rentals on urban life.
- To strengthen local and global resistance.
- To connect strategies and knowledge to influence public policy.
- To spread alternatives promoted from the grassroots.
Who is behind this initiative?
OGAT is a network promoted by organisations committed to the right to housing and urban justice. We are supported by leading figures such as David Harvey, Leilani Farha, Raquel Rolnik and others, who contribute their experience and critical vision.
