Homelessness increasing all over the world

Up to 100 million people are homeless worldwide, of which 20 million to 40 million are adrift in major urban centers. The largest numbers are in developing countries. The question of landlessness is very closely tied to homelessness and people not having a resource base. Interview with M. Kothari

Note on Human Settlements before CSD 13

Three key challenges are raised by AG Habitat: keeping CSD 13 fundamentally dedicated to the integrated implementation of all international targets related to human settlements; address all obstacles and prioritise action not only at some local levels but towards the global frames of development and lead to some real international commitments regarding solutions and follow ups at international and national levels.
