What’s happening at the 62nd session of the UN Commission for Social Development (CSocD)

The 62nd Session of the Commission for Social Development is taking place from the 5th to 14th February 2024: the priority theme is “Fostering social development and social justice through social policies to accelerate progress on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and to achieve the overarching goal of poverty eradication”.

The Women and Habitat Africa Working Group (WHAWG) in collaboration with Bahai International Community, WorldWIDE Network Nigeria: Women in Development and Environment and UN-DESA is holding an in- person CSocD side event on Wednesday 7th February 2024, 11:45am – 1pm at the Conference Room A, UN Headquarters, New York. The 2024 NGOCSocD Civil Society Declaration is now open for signatures. 

The NGO Committee on Social Development has shared the 2024 Civil Society Declaration for which calls for placing people and justice at the center of social policies. This Declaration is open to public signatures until February 2, 2024; you can show your support by signing it through this link.  

All signatures received by NGOs and individuals will be shared with Bureau members of the Commission, UN Member States and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs at the opening session.
