The HIC Annual Report 2017 is out!

HIC Members and Allies are actively involved the defense of habitat rights in all continents: at the local, regional and global level.

Particularly relevant are our efforts to advance in social mobilization and public policies to promote the security of tenure and a wide range of alternatives to guarantee the right to housing, including public provision, social renting, cooperatives, community land trusts and other collective forms; the recognition and support of processes of social production, re-construction and collective management of habitat; and the social function of property, the right to the city and the creation of adequate and violence-free housing and public spaces for women, girls and other groups groups requiring priority attention. There are some good examples and success stories to share, but also concerning setbacks that we need to confront.
